Lighting the street…

FIELD NOTES / 003

A small life,
a very big night.

A rendering and movement study for a short film about a lost rat. The camera stays with him; the city passes beneath his feet.

Let him explore: he wanders, catches scents, investigates and returns to his route. Or use the arrow keys to guide him. Try a cautious sniff, a pause to listen, then a quick scurry. The compass sets his route while exploring, or changes his facing during a selected action. Move the light toward “Home” to try a warmer ending.

A continuously articulated rat: planted paws, jointed limbs, a flexible spine, searching head, twitching ears and a trailing tail. Walking uses staggered steps; scurrying uses an asymmetric gallop. Open Motion lab to slow time, inspect contacts, or advance a single simulation step.
